Canadas Best Value Inn Chinook Station

HEY . . this place is what it is . . very helpful for those that otherwize may not be able to rent a place to live on a monthly basis . the staff rules.. the location is great . some people like myself like and enjoy the constant drone of traffic on Macleod trail . it is moments away from either the C-TRAIN or bus routes are literally steps away from your front door . my only wish would be that as with every other hotel / motel in Calgary . the price of rent rises dramatically during the summer months and stampede . i had nothing but a good time during my stay at their premises, and really miss the area and the people in it .

I have had one of the best experiences at this motel. it was so good for the price i paid. the front desk lady was so sweet to me and answered all of my tourist-ey questions. 10/10 recommend.

The building itself is old, so all the noise from the hallway and outside comes into the room. The A/C was loud, too. On the other hand, everything works: TV, fridge, etc. The room was clean; housekeeping did a good job, the staff was friendly, and check-in and check-out were easy. The location is great: a 10-minute drive to downtown, a gas station in front of the hotel, and good restaurants nearby.

This place is well located, we stayed for 1 night, this is my honest review: 1.-yes, you need a valid credit card (not a visa/master debit card) otherwise expect to pay some extra fees. 2.-yes place is old, but the owner looks like is trying his/her best to keep the place looking nice, don’t expect a fancy walls. 3.- they don’t keep your deposit, that’s a lie, we got ours back within a day, follow basic rules, respect the place, don’t smoke inside the room, use the towels the way is supposed to be used and you should be fine. 4.- yes they do take a picture of your ID, most motels does that. 5.-the front desk (I meet both morning and afternoon) did a good job, they did not have an attitude, they were polite and respectful. Conclusion: if you’re coming to Calgary for a quick stay, I do recommended, don’t recommend for a family with kids, neither with persons with pets; respect the place, follow the rules and be nice, so you can enjoy your stay.

I don't know why people book a motel room expecting 5 star service. All I expect is a smooth check in and check out process, which is exactly what I received. I stayed in room 223 and although definitely dated, the room was tidy and the linens were clean. Full bathroom also very clean. My biggest complaint is that the air conditioning unit was very loud but it did the job so not a big deal. My advice if you're staying here is to pack earplugs, although I didn't notice much noise from other guests the road is very busy at all hours. I read some comments about a bad smell, there is a weird smell in the main office but inside the room it was fine. So if you plan on booking, try to get room 223!

I stayed here last weekend for Stampede and found the service and rooms great. They were clean and provided all the amenities I needed. Check-in and check-out was also smooth.
